Camden Turns 4

I am amazed at how fast time flies. I am not as sad as I have been for the past two days. It hits me hard every year when the kids have a birthday. It's such a special day and I love making it the BIG DAY but it seems to tear at my heart strings. Casey even said at lunch yesterday, Chic-fil-a was Camden's choice, "I stare at the date and it seems so strange. What an amazing day it was bringing Camden into the world. Seems like it wasn't that long ago. He's really grown up, hasn't he?" He really has and what an awesome child God has given to us. I think that's really what birthdays are for: Parents to remember how blessed they are to have that child and what precious years of memories are in store. Sorry, little mushy.

With our move to Abilene, I wanted Camden to have some form of party with little buddies and fun. My only idea, shared by my Mom, was to have it in Huntsville with my friends and their children. We have visited so many times at the church and had play-dates with those friends, that Camden really had buddies there. It was a great idea! So, Sunday, May 4, we had 32 people at the party (half parents, half friends). Camden chose Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as his theme and the location was the Dino city park. The park is our favorite park in Huntsville and it's so shaded, clean and has great equipment. Aunt Michelle made "pupcakes" (that's what Cam calls cupcakes) with Mickey Mouse on them. We ate pizza and had tons of fun. The parents sat around talking while the kids played hard. Camden really enjoyed the party. It was better than expected, the weather was beautiful and for all of that, I am so thankful.

When do you find time while you are moving to do all of these things. I hate that we missed the party. Sorry I didn't get to hug your neck at church. We had to leave early to get to the airport. I am so glad we got the chance to visit last week. Love ya!
